Fall is coming soon

Already. Okay, I'm not complaining, I just am not ready to start school yet. And I only have a week of summer vacation left. =( *sigh* I have no idea how school is going to get done with a horse, though. It will be interesting.

Angel is doing great. She has been absolutely wonderful so far. I am hopefully helping her stifle injury as I ride her every other day. She seems to be doing the same, so far, though. We'll have to see. =\

I think we found a church where we live and I really like it. The people are so nice and no one cares what you wear or look like. They care about God they care about whether you know Him or not. It's really refreshing to be in a church like that. =)

Well, fall IS my favorite season, so I guess I can't complain too much. I love the leaves in the fall, and I love the temperatures. I also love the fact that the weather is perfect for making homemade bread. It's too hot in the summer to make bread. Oh, and the temperatures get down just low enough in the mornings and evenings to make hot cider or hot chocolate or something like that. And this fall, I have a horse that I can spend time with...fall is the best season for riding, too. The weather is not too hot and not too cold, and the horses are in really good moods. =)

I can't believe this is my senior year in high school. That's a little freaky. I have college plans, though. I'm just not all that excited about leaving my horse...trying not to think about that right now...
After fall of course, comes Christmas, so here's another countdown. =D

139 days, 7 hours, and 2 minutes until Christmas Eve...

Christmas in July

Angel is coming home on Friday.

Hehe. My Christmas really did happen in July this year. My Christmas Angel is finally coming!!! =)

2 days, 9 hours, 24 minutes until the day she comes home. =) Technically, it'll be another 15 hours after that, because we won't be picking her up at midnight on July 16th. Haha. But yeah.

It's really cool when lifetime dreams come true...but it's even better when you know that it is God's will for your life! God is SO AMAZING! =) =) =)

His mercy is so wonderful. I am constantly amazed by His mercy and love. Honestly. How could God send His own Son to die for me, a horrible sinner, so that He could forgive me? Why would He want to forgive me and have a relationship with someone as broken as me? He is giving me a beautiful horse, and I don't deserve her at all! =)

Thank You, Jesus!

And it's only 3 days away!!!! =O

Christmas snow

Well, I think we're gonna have a white Christmas. They're predicting snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. But even if that doesn't come, we've got about 6-10 inches(give or take a few) right now and another 14-22 inches tonight and tomorrow. We'll see if we actually get that much. =P Maybe I should try that snow horse again...

6 days, 1 hour, 15 minutes until Christmas Eve. =) =) =)

Christmas wishes

So. I think I am getting my Christmas present this year. =) Only it won't fit under the tree and it won't be here until after Christmas sometime.

I will post a little more specifically about this later. =)

On growing up.

Well, today I have not been doing that great. I have been thinking of Christmas and everything that isn't going to happen. Everything is going messed up. There is no money.

I don't want anything.

Everyone was right.

My horse under the Christmas tree was a child's dream. It was very silly. Someday I will learn not to hope for silly things.

It's not that I want anything for Christmas. It's that I don't have money to give anyone anything. I don't have money to get any of my friends gifts. I don't even have money for my family's presents. I have no idea if we'll have money for cookies. I have heard that we may not even be doing stockings this year. Half of the family isn't going to be here. Why does growing up have to happen? Why can't things just stay the same? Why can't life be easier?

I hate growing up.

Christmas is never going to be the same again. ='(

Template

Hello again. This is my new Christmas template. Honestly, I LOVE the picture I did (Idea credited to Amber), but I can't figure out what to do with the background. It's the wrong color green. And then my container border. White, red, and green just don't cut it. Any suggestions?

I'm way behind. =(

Okay. I am horrible. =(

I can't even keep this blog up anymore. Gah. I'm temporarily putting this template back up until I have my Christmas one together. =)

Speaking of Christmas...

Ah the joys of life...

Well. Moving has been set back another week. Oh, well. We were at the house site today and I love the almost wrap around porches. They make me want to have a swing or chair out there. I thought of summer nights watching my imaginary (hopefully not for long) horse. I thought of cold winter nights with hot cider or hot chocolate and a blanket looking up at the stars. I thought of late night talks with people I love. I thought of dancing. I thought of God. I thought of dreams that I have (having a horse for instance). I thought of hope and Christmases there. I thought of the possibility of babysitting again. I thought of making friends and sharing these times with them. As I looked off the porch at the mountains (over the construction site, of course), I tried to imagine what the property is hopefully going to look like instead of the brush and briars it is right now. I imagined the orchard and the garden, the animals (especially the horse! haha), the front yard, etc.

It's just so fun to dream once in a while. Having friends over and riding horses. Babysitting, cooking with our own fruits and vegetables, gardening, mowing (yes, I actually enjoy mowing when it's a riding mower), swimming (if we ever get a swimming pool), walks in the woods, choosing a Christmas tree from our own property again, having Christmases there, watching huge thunderstorms roll in (it's a family pastime) and seeing the full rainbow afterwards (wide open skies are awesome), watching the snow fall and seeing the place all in white (prayfully Christmas eve?), spending time on the porch reading my Bible and watching meteor showers (if there are any), looking out over the gorgeous autumn colors, okay, you get the picture. It sounds like so much fun. But does anyone ever wonder if it will really happen?

Reading my Bible and praying anywhere out there is so peaceful. I spent my first prayer time in my bedroom (not finished yet) on my knees today. There's also something about the wide open spaces that makes me want to dance. I have no idea why. But when I see all this, I have to wonder how people could think the world was evolved. The beautiful mountains, the open skies. The animals. The horse alone is so beautiful. I have no idea how people can actually think it evolved. Every movement is breathtaking. The soft, expressive eyes are so beautiful. Every curve is so precise. Every muscle put to the exact place. Their ears are curved just perfectly. Their noses are soft and velvety. Their colors are gorgeous. The hooves are hard and resilient. They can start galloping from a standstill. Some can turn on a dime. Dressage horses can make the most complicated thing look so easy and beautiful. Hunters make jumping look like flying without wings (but it sure is easy to imagine them, isn't it?). When a horse spooks, they really can run! When horses canter, it looks like a rocking horse in motion. I don't know if this is true with everyone (probably not), but it just captures my attention and refuses to let go. I don't want to look at anything else or listen to someone who is talking. It's like I'm in a dream or a fairy tale when I watch a horse canter. Okay, probably it's just me. But whatever. Anyway, I just can't see how someone can think that they came about by these random processes. They're just so gorgeous and beautiful. I can't get over them. How could they have evolved?

Anyway, that was an entirely different tangent than what I was going for. It was just really nice to dream today. I hope this all works out for the best someday.

Ehh...

Well, believe it or not, I AM still here. I just have no idea what to post anymore. We are moving in about three weeks. People are people (which isn't fair. Why can't they be something else?). Life is life.

I need to go riding again. I have had a couple of dates set up, but they got rained out. It looks like I am not going to be able to ride again for a few months. ='(

I am going to the barn on Friday next week, but not to ride. But I should be content with that.

Actually, I made a visit to a horse farm the other day, just to get a feel for how they run, what they do, etc. They lease horses for free and I signed a free lease form for them. I may be getting a horse from them someday, however, I am not sure. We have to move first and get fencing and a run-in-shed up. I hope to have a horse by Christmastime. But that might be hoping for too much. =\

Other than that, there really isn't much to say. We're packing and getting ready to move. But yeah. So that's all I can think of to say for now. Maybe I'll be coherent enough to write something later.

Give me a break because I haven't been riding in 2 1/2 weeks. I am NOT going to have anything coherent probably for a while. =P

And for my countdown...

146 days, 10 hours, 12 minutes until Christmas eve...

Craving Christmas

Yup. This tends to happen in July. I want Christmas again! I really want Christmas again. I want egg casserole and Christmas lights and a Christmas tree and Christmas ornaments and wassail and the Christmas story and Christmas music and decorations and stockings over the fireplace...ooohhhh.......Boy, do I want Christmas!!! I don't even care about the presents. Just the all the traditions and family and stuff. Check here and here for more pictures of Christmas!!

Ohhh....I think I just made huge mistake. I was looking through all the Christmas recipes on my blog. *mouth waters* Just you try looking at Cream Cheese Walnut Muffins and Wassail and Popcorn Balls and not crave Christmas (maybe it doesn't work if you've never tasted them, I don't know)...

Ooohhh.h....I want Christmas!!!!! =P

(Looks like it's time to start that countdown again...)

163 days, 13 hours, 31 minutes until Christmas Eve...

It is March

...And therefore time to start thinking about Christmas again!

So..here's my ideal Christmas.

Christmas eve
Making wassail/egg casserole.
Riding my horse and spending time with him
Getting everything set up and decorated.
Evening corn chowder for dinner.
Special Christmas story with wassail.
Singing Christmas songs.
Getting everything ready for bed.
Drinking last of wassail mugs and saving pot for next day.
It starts snowing.
Sleep.

Christmas day
Getting up and starting the day at 4:00a.m.(with a special Christmas gift, perhaps)
Finding that it snowed at least two inches outside.
Getting dressed in lounge/sweat pants and a warm, toasty hoodie.
Going to the kitchen and getting carrots and apples.
Heading out to the barn to see my horse and give him/her his/her Christmas carrots and apples.
Spending a little time with my horse just saying hey(hay!) and grooming him.
Possibly going for an early morning ride in the snow.
Coming back inside for some hot chocolate/hot coffee/wassail and sitting in front of the fireplace.
Possibly watching a Christmas movie.
Getting the egg casserole in the oven.
Making grapefruit and sausages and orange juice, etc.
Waiting for everyone else to get up.
Eating breakfast.
(skipping cleaning up until later)
Heading into the living room to open any gifts(save best for last, of course!)
Clean up kitchen and living room.
Get dressed to go outside and play in the snow with horse.
Possibly ride horse.
Come back in for wassail/hot chocolate.
Lounge around the fireplace or watch a movie.
Or hang out outside with horse.

Just a couple of pictures from today

My Christmas present from my sis...not quite the effect I had in mind, but...

Okay...I know very random, but I liked it...peppermint lotion, just for the record.

I came up with the windowsill idea, but this wasn't exactly what I had envisioned.

This was a redo of the light coming in on the Bible(see this post). I liked this one much better.

This was a chance shot.

Messing around with the cold window. That's my boyfriend's first initial(hopefully you can see it). =D

Blog Template changes

I like my Christmas template.

One sister thinks I should keep my Christmas template.

Two of my sisters think I should change my template.

I can't win.

*sigh*

What do you think?

And, don't you dare tell me to change it without giving me an idea for theme or something.

Christmas pictures

Friday, December 26, 2008

I can't believe it's over.

I thought that maybe I would have a horse last spring.

A whole year has passed since I thought that.

Now I don't even know if I'll ever get a horse.

Wow.

This has been a really different year.

I can't believe Christmas is over. I can't believe this year is almost over.

Wow.

Yay!

Christmas was pretty good, I guess. I'm happy with everything I got which was more than I wanted, but not everything I asked for. =\ So, I'll just have to wait 'til my birthday. =P There wasn't any snow. ='(

I got a REALLY nice pair of riding boots and my own helmet!

I can't wait to ride in them!

On that note...

I REEALLLLY want snow for Christmas.

Just a half an inch.

Just on Christmas eve.

Just for Christmas morning.

Then it can melt.

But I really want snow.

I've been praying for snow.

It's supposed to rain.

But I've been praying for snow.

So maybe it will snow.

Just for Christmas.
