Some shots of Angel (Equine Photography)

So yesterday, I was outside, writing an email to a friend and it had been drizzling a little. After a few minutes, I looked up and saw a rainbow, and I realized I had been wanting to get pictures of Angel since she got here...so I took the opportunity with the light and such to get some shots. =)

Editing attempt that I fell in love with.

Normally, my pictures are unedited (partially because I'm not good at it and partially because I don't have any good programs). But I decided to try it the other day. I absolutely fell in love with the result on this one. The original is first, then the edited version. =)

A few verses and some pictures of my last day at the barn

I had such a blast on Friday at the barn. I helped out with the group that came out and I rode for a little while. I actually took Rocky over the six-inch jump. He LOVES jumping! I had so much fun. I was hot when I was done and so while I was waiting for the kids to come and help groom Rocky, I got a drink of Dr. Pepper. Of course, I had to share it with him. I think he got more of it than I did (see picture below)! I had so much fun and I only wish that it wasn't goodbye. I have always had such a blast and I don't know what I would have done without my time at the barn. God really blessed me with all of these awesome people and horses. I will never forget them. They have been the best part of my life (not including God) and I wouldn't trade one second I had with them for anything. I love them so much!

Micah 7:18-19

18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

19He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Doesn't this look so peaceful?

My goofy boyfriend wanted my Dr. Pepper. I think he got more of it than I did! (In case you couldn't tell, this was supposed to be a picture of me and my riding teacher!!)

Psalm 51:16-17

16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.

Also, this is my Rocky with his leaser. He loves her and she is so awesome. =)

Check here for more pictures of my last day at the barn.

Not my best shot, but my favorite...

I just love her eyes. This is my girl, Angel. I love this horse. I thought she was going to be pretty rotten yesterday, because she was acting grouchy toward all the other horses. But she lived up to her name. My riding teacher gave me a lesson yesterday in dressage. That was fun, and I think Angel really needed the challenge. I rode her bareback for a while after that. Yesterday was such a good day. =)

Check out more shots here.

I can't decide which I like better...

I edited the first one a little. The second is the original. But I'm not sure which I like better...think the edit was too harsh? Anyone have an opinion?

Oh...and just for fun, I was messing with colors in it and here's what I came up with...

Other than that, I'm not able to go out to the barn this Wednesday because of rain again. I am hopefully going to spend the whole day there on Friday. But it's just been very hard to get over there for a lot of reasons. =(

Dreary mood

I really like this photo because the blurriness matched my mood when I took it. It was rainy, and cloudy, and my mind was blurry. But I love how you can still see the curiosity in her eye. =)

My favorite shots

The top is my favorite.

Classic Quarter Horse shot

This was last week. They were waiting for the morning feeding.

I can't get over the curve in this Arab's ears. It's just so cute!

I'm not sure why I like this shot...

A few pictures

I regret to have to inform you that I forgot my camera on Friday. I had so much fun grooming the horses and giving them all carrots. There was even a horse that let us pet him while he was lying down! I really wish I had had my camera.

I did go for a walk on Thursday and got some pictures of the horses down the road. So here are a few...I love the lighting on these shots. I don't edit my photos unless otherwise specified.

What I've been doing...

I've been baking all week with my sister. It's been a lot of fun, though I must admit, tiring at the very least. Here is a photo of what I have spent this morning in particular doing.

After baking two cakes that didn't work, and re-baking another couple of cakes to replace them, then playing around with frosting and fondants to find the right texture, and finally finishing, then the dog eats some of the frosting because I left it too close to the table...welll...you get the picture (Sorry for the pun, they just kinda happen...my family has paronomasia). It's a lot of work. The dog seemed like a re-run of the Avonlea series. =P Anyway, I'll shut up and give you the picture.

There should be more equine photography coming this weekend. Hopefully, I'm going to be going to the barn again this Friday. I can't wait! =)

Pictures from Friday (More coming this Friday!)

Ecstasy

I'm am soooo beyond happy! I haven't been to the barn in over a month, and I get to spend ALL afternoon there tomorrow!!!! I will have some new pictures to post, hopefully.

Ecstatic is one of my favorite words. =D

P.s. Did I ever mention that I don't get much sleep the night before riding?

Speaking of addictions...

I NEED to go riding. I haven't been riding in a least a month. It's depressing. I'm in withdrawal. Laugh if you wish. If you don't understand, you never will.

But I need to go riding.

Hopefully this Friday I will be able to and will come back with pictures to post. =)

New Blog

This is a new blog that I have created just for my equine photography.

I would appreciate it if anyone who is interested would pop over there and leave comments on my pictures. Please don't just look! I am posting them so I can have some feedback. Please leave comments, whether good or bad, and tell me how I can improve my photos!

I am not forcing anyone to look who doesn't want to. But I would much appreciate advice, encouragement, or even discouragement as long as it is given with advice to improve what you think needs improving. If you have any friends who would be intested in looking, please tell them about it! It is open to everyone to look and give me feedback on my photos!
