Twelve years old

Well, today is my twelfth spiritual birthday.

Twelve years ago today, my Jesus saved me. He gave me more mercy and grace than I could ever hope to deserve. There is no way that I can repay Him. He is the best God ever. I can't wait to see Him face to face. I love Him. Thank You, Lord.

There are no words that go deep enough to tell my gratitude. Jesus, You're the BEST!!! =)

This is my eleventh birthday

Eleven years ago, today, God saved me.

Because of His death on the cross, I can come to Him and He will see me without sin. He has forgiven me from all my sins, past and future. I will never cease to be amazed how He could save me. I am not by any means perfect. Nor could I ever hope to be. But He promises in His Word that if I only confess my sins, He is faithful and just for forgive me. He has promised me that He will never leave me. I can never lose His forgiveness. I love that.

Eleven years ago, I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and save me. That is all I had to do. He did the rest. Now, I spend every moment I can serving Him. I still fail. But He still forgives (check out Psalm 136). My God is more than I could ever hope for. He loves me more than I can fathom. He has saved me from a life in Hell and promises me that I will live with Him forever!

Father, thank You for adopting me. Thank You for making me Your child. There are no words to describe my gratitude. I can never make it up to You or repay You. I can never work my way to being perfect. But Your blood has covered my sins. Thank You for being who You are. Thank You for saving me.

Who am I?

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am yours..
I am yours..

I'm an aunt threes times over(or is that removed???)

Well, my brother and sister-in-law have had their second baby. A baby girl. So I guess that's the "big" news around here.

I was going to go riding today. It was going to be a really fun dressage lesson! I actually got out to the barn, but it started raining. So I ended up just hanging out with the wet horses and drinking(hahaha another pun, they just PLAY out of my mouth!) their wet smell in. The best horses to kiss are the wet, smelly ones. ;-D

I got some pictures and I got my camera back, so I will try to upload some pictures soon.

Of birthdays and such...

Just for the record, it gets bad when you have to sing "Happy Birthday" to your Father for his birthday and no one else leads and you all sound terrible. You all start laughing and can't stop for a long time. Someone tries to start, and stops. Someone else tries and stops.

And during it all, your Father is sitting there just smirking and laughing at you. =P

Mom's birthday party

Okay, so the whole story behind this is Mom and I were out shopping one day. She happened to go by a new candle store in the mall and saw this little tiny tea set she absolutely loved. She started oo-ing and ahh-ing over it. I made a mental note to buy it later and hoped she wouldn't buy it. She finally said, "okay, I'm not buying for myself," and then she took one last longing look at it and we went out of the mall. The next day, she ended up going shopping and I mananged to talk her into taking me. We went to a couple of places and then she went to her doctor's appointment. Then we went to the mall. When we got there, I asked Mom for a twenty dollar bill and told her I had some shopping of my own to do. We figured out a place to meet and I took off. I stopped in Claire's looking for something for my sis, then I continued down to the candle shop. I found it closed down. I was pretty annoyed. Then I saw the note that said, "I will be right back" and I went to a couple of stores around it. About the fifth or sixth time I went back to it, it was open. So anyway, I picked up the tea set and looked around for a minute and then went to the checkout. I was telling the cashier that I was buying it for my Mom and I hoped she wouldn't come back in there. He told me that he would just tell her that he sold it. So I left and hid the te a set in my purse and then went to Jcpenney. Since Mom wasn't there yet, I went back to Claire's. We met there anyway. I told her that I didn't find anything and then we looked in Jc Penney for a minute then left. On the way out of the mall, Mom told me "that little tea set was gone! I went back to buy it and the guy told me that he sold it yesterday! I should have bought it yesterday!" I hemmed and hawed trying to pretend that I was all upset about it. We got to the car and Mom asked me if I still had the twenty she gave me. I told her yes, because I was not about to give the tea set away. Then we went to Hallmark. I looked there for something for my sister and since I only had ten dollars, I asked Mom, "Mom, if I wanted something more expensive, do you have another ten?" She only had two ones. I took them anyway. The next day, Mom was asking me how much I spent at Hallmark and I told her, "Well, I had the twenty." Ahhh!!!! Anyway, Dad and I were planning secrets all this week and she never knew about them. We had to stop a couple of times to pick things up for this cake in order to keep it a secret. I had a friend over for "baking" on Friday and we actually made her birthday cake! Well, I made the cake the night before, but we made the frosting and put roses on it since we ran out of time. So anyway. It's sooo hard keeping secrets from your Mom! I even heard that she took Dad back to that candle place again, but she couldn't buy the other sets, because she liked this one too much!

Well, this is the cake. I liked it, but I didn't like the fondant recipe I used. So I'll probably find something else next time.

This is my Mom when I told her I was supposed to get a picture of her.
Then she got to the glasses case. =D
She finally got to the bottom.
Then she had to ask Dad if he had anything to do with it.
Then of course, she hugged me, very excited and happy someone else hadn't bought it and she continued to play with her toy. This is it.

Just a random shot I really liked that took of the extra roses.

Anyway, she told me it was the best birthday she's had in a long time!

First ever cake(and yes, I am a perfectionist)

I know, I'm crazy. I'm making my Mother's birthday cake for tomorrow. I will post pics. I'm actually having someone over to help me decorate it tomorrow. But I finished making it tonight. I am hoping to have it perfect. But one of the cakes is fallen in. =( Maybe it will look good with the decorations. =) I hope so, because I want Mom's birthday to be special and the cake to be perfect! It's a bonnie butter cake and I think I'm going to decorate it with real roses, roses made with icing, fondant, and buttercream icing. I hope Mom will like it. Dad and I have planned some special surprises for her. =D
