A realization...

I'm not sure what made me think of it, but this morning a thought hit me.

Jesus will never leave me.

I have always known that. But so often I forget it. The thought I had though, is that because of my sin, God couldn't even look upon me. But because I have given it to Jesus, He can.

He won't forsake me because Jesus took that on Himself already.

Mark 15:34

"And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

I cannot even imagine the loneliness Jesus experienced when He was on the cross. I have been lonely. But I am positive, it has not been so deep or so heart-wrenching as the loneliness Jesus experienced. When God left Him. I am so glad that I never have to experience such depth of loneliness. Such agony. I can't even describe how I imagine it. But I never have to experience that feeling because of Him. He took it on Himself. The scary part is that God only turned away because of my sin. It wasn't even Jesus' fault.

I am praising God for this. This is one thing in and of itself that makes me realize just how much God has done for me.

Thank You, Lord.

Though others forget....

Isaiah 49:14-16

14
But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me,
And my Lord has forgotten me.”
15 “ Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me.

I have known this promise since I was small. Why have I forgotten it? The Lord showed me this this morning. I love the part "Surely, they may forget, yet I will not forget you."

As some teenagers say, "God rocks."
