Of birthdays and such...

Just for the record, it gets bad when you have to sing "Happy Birthday" to your Father for his birthday and no one else leads and you all sound terrible. You all start laughing and can't stop for a long time. Someone tries to start, and stops. Someone else tries and stops.

And during it all, your Father is sitting there just smirking and laughing at you. =P

First ever cake(and yes, I am a perfectionist)

I know, I'm crazy. I'm making my Mother's birthday cake for tomorrow. I will post pics. I'm actually having someone over to help me decorate it tomorrow. But I finished making it tonight. I am hoping to have it perfect. But one of the cakes is fallen in. =( Maybe it will look good with the decorations. =) I hope so, because I want Mom's birthday to be special and the cake to be perfect! It's a bonnie butter cake and I think I'm going to decorate it with real roses, roses made with icing, fondant, and buttercream icing. I hope Mom will like it. Dad and I have planned some special surprises for her. =D

Help!

Okay, if anyone can give me advice on what to do, please do so. I am doing horribly in my math. I cannot seem to get any more than 50 percent correct. I've been working with my Dad on it, and he says I know how to do it, I just miss the signs or do one thing and then change to another. I am really trying, but I can't get any better! Please give me some advice...

Psalm 86:8-10

Among the Gods there is none like you, O Lord; nor are there any works like unto your works, all nations whom you have made, shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things, You alone are God.

My Dad wrote a song from these verses. I love that song. I thought this would be fun to post today.

Good morning...

I feel like I actually accompished something today! Well, this morning I managed to get up at 6:15 and do my Bible time. Then I went for a half hour walk. At 7:00 am, I made Dad's breakfast and did the dishes for Mom. I got breakfast and the dogs are taken care of. Now I'm off to make bread. I'll post the recipe later.

Also, a few days ago, we went to my aunt's house after dinner. I was remembering going to Grandma's house and the walks in the woods and baking bread, and we used to all run down to the railroad when we heard a train to see if we could get there before it left. We got Christmas trees there some years, and I remember having hot chocolate one year because my hands were so cold. We played catch with the football and we helped Grandma in her garden and we swam and picked strawberries and blueberries. We always liked to eat blueberries after swimming. We also liked to play civil war. It was such a wonderful time going over to Grandma and Grandpa's house. They died in October 2003, just five days apart, my Grandma from lung cancer, and my Grandpa from pneumonia at a nursing home. I realized just how much I miss going to Grandma's.

Father's Day

We went hiking in the Peaks. We took the 4.4 mile Flat top trail. It was beautiful. I took my camera and got a few shots while on the hike. It was a long hike! After hiking we went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner, and I had Chicken Fresco. It was very good! Then we came home to take care of the dogs and rest. These are some of my best pictures. I also had a cool talk with my Dad.

The entrance to our hike...

Sunlight spilling down through the trees...

Spotlight on a butterfly...totally cool.

A pretty red flower...

I thought they were cool pictures. especially the one with the butterfly. I wish I had gotten a better shot of it though. It moved after that shot. We had a cool Father's day.
